Call for Applications
South African University Teachers (SAUT), in partnership with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), proudly announces the launch of the 2025 Annual National University Teaching Awards (NUTA).
Candidates must submit a portfolio of evidence that addresses the specific NUTA criteria. An expert adjudication panel will evaluate all submissions using established rubrics. Up to ten finalists demonstrating exemplary performance will be selected to receive monetary awards.

- Call for Applications: May 2025
- Portfolio Submission Date: End of June 2025
- Time Period for Evaluations to be Completed: July to September 2025
- Final Date for Evaluation Discussions: End of September 2025
- Date of Finalisation of Awardees and Commendations: End of September 2025
- Awards Ceremony: 21 November 2025
